I was in Detroit last week, shot the new Cadillac CTS show car for a Motor Trend cover. Looks like GM is starting to create some competition for the euro market. These Cad’s have a lot of power. I’ve noticed that cars are getting more and more powerful. I shoot a lot of Corvettes, the ZO6 keeps getting faster and faster, the new CLK is pushing ZO6 territory, and this Cad is expecting All Wheel Drive, thats why the fenders have grown to accommodate this for 09. I shot in the GM lobby using a front mount rig, the images are spectacular!! I shot with the 1Ds Mark2, now this is a great camera, except for the small viewing screen, very frustrating, I kept having to download the card to check for sharpness, the actual image exceeds the resolution capabilities of the screen, I called Canon about this and they agreed…hmmm, and I asked why my 1n has a big screen and the 7000 dollar 1Ds doesn’t… they didnt have an answer, well I’m still going to pick up a 1Ds, I’ve got it on hold at Samy’s Camera, the resolution makes it worh it.
